Ok Taecyeon returns as a tyrannical male protagonist in a novel with a strong instinct for obsession.

KBS2's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'I Stole the Male Lead's First Night' (directed by Lee Woong-hee and Kang Soo-yeon, written by Jeon Seon-yeong), which is scheduled to premiere on June 11, is a 'no-break' off-course romance fantasy drama about a supporting character in a romance novel with the soul of an ordinary female college student who spends a night with the novel's most obsessive male lead.

In the drama, Ok Taecyeon plays the male protagonist of a romance novel set in the fictional Joseon Dynasty. This time, he is a perfect person with both looks and martial arts skills, and he is also the owner of a cool personality that is not swayed by emotions. However, after his first night with the second character, Cha Seon-Cheok (played by Seo Hyun), who is possessed by a real-life female college student K, his suppressed emotions explode and he transforms into a straightforward male protagonist who is infinitely honest about love, completely shaking up the flow of the original work.

The released photos capture the cold exterior of the perfect male protagonist in the novel, along with the subtle emotional changes that begin to occur within him. The image of him riding a horse in full dress, standing alone in the dark night, conveys the intimidating feeling of the male protagonist who dominates the entire story. On the other hand, the moment he looks at the second choice after spending the first night, his eyes are filled with excitement, foreshadowing the unexpected charm hidden behind his coldness.

Ok Taecyeon, who took on the unique role of the male protagonist in this novel, recalled their first meeting that felt like fate, saying, “I received the script at a time when I was really enjoying reading web novels.” He continued, “I think everyone has imagined entering a web novel and becoming their favorite protagonist at least once,” expressing his excitement.

Regarding this character, he said, "He may look like a male protagonist, but he's actually closer to a villain on the surface," and "People see him as a tyrant, and he's a person who views his awkwardness in expressing himself as a weakness and isolates himself." However, he expressed his affection, saying, "Despite that, the fact that he changes the ways he's maintained his whole life for the woman he loves when he meets an alternative is the most charming."

Ok Taecyeon, who had many conversations with the director about the character before filming, raised expectations by saying, "I wanted to convey the seriousness of the character in each scene, and I wanted to express this emotion with my actions and eyes rather than words."
