'K-POP Hotel' Opens... First Resident is 'Aespa'

[Seoul = Newsis] Reporter Jeongmin Yoon = SK Telecom announced on the 9th that it will open 'K-POP Hotel', a new community where K-POP idols and global fans meet, on its metaverse platform 'Ifland' on the 10th.

This community is a virtual hotel in the metaverse that connects the Ifland space. It consists of three spaces: the 'Intro Screen' where you can see all the floors of the hotel, the 'Artist Lounge' where each idol checks in on each floor from the 1st to the 99th floor, and the 'Member Room' with each member's unique characteristics.

The home screen is a space where you can check and follow idols who have checked in from the 1st floor to the 99th floor at a glance. The floor number is assigned as a number directly selected by the artist.

The first guests of the K-POP hotel are idol group 'aespa' who will check in on the 99th floor and girl group 'IFRANDIS' who will check in on the 2nd floor. 'Rise' and 'Sandara Park' are scheduled to check in sequentially at the end of this month and in September, respectively.

Artist Lounge is an independent metaverse space for each idol group. Global fans can gather in the lounge to enjoy content such as artist bulletin boards, music videos, large art walls, and volumetrics (a technology that simultaneously captures 360-degree views of a person with over 100 cameras to create a three-dimensional image based on real life).

In the artist lounge, step-by-step collaborative missions (fan missions) are carried out every 2-3 weeks. Fans receive benefits based on whether they complete the missions, such as filling the post-it board with cheering messages or collecting artist images. SK Telecom said it has prepared benefits such as real-time fan meetups, virtual items, signed CD/Polaroid raffle tickets, and subway advertisements.

The member room is a space decorated with each member's characteristics and memories with fans, from color to decoration. It offers content such as the 'Secret Picture Frame' quiz that verifies whether you are a fan of the idol, and 'Volumetric 3D Motion' where the idol's appearance changes depending on the time of day (morning, lunch, and dinner).

In addition, Ifland will also present K-POP hotel costumes, Ifhome decoration items, and volumetric items. Examples include costumes modeled after Espa's stage costumes, pajama costumes that give a vacation feel, and an art wall with exclusive artist photos. In particular, the artist lounge will feature mannequins where users can try on stage costumes.
