Espa, Rise, Stray Kids, and Seventeen were named winners of Song Day on the second day of the 1st Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA).
The KGMA Organizing Committee announced the winners of the Most Streamed Song, Fan Voted Rookie Award, IS Rookie Award, Best Adult Contemporary, Trend of the Year Trot Star, Best Song 10, Photogenic, Trend of the Year K-Pop Solo, and Trend of the Year Trot Rookie awards ahead of the Song Day Awards held on the 17th.
The trophy for most streaming song goes to aespa. With "Supernova," released in May, aespa topped major domestic music charts including Genie, Flo, and Bugs, as well as YouTube Music, gaining popularity across the global market. "Supernova" also surpassed 100 million Spotify streaming in just 53 days since its release. In addition, aespa has solidified their position as a representative 4th generation girl group by achieving 5 consecutive million sellers and 6 consecutive Billboard 200 Top 50 charts. In particular, with the title song "Whiplash" from their 5th mini-album released last month, they debuted at 53rd place on Spotify, recording the highest entry rank for a K-pop girl group this year. They also proved their global music power once again by entering Billboard's World Albums, Global 200 (excluding the US), Global 200, and Billboard 200 charts in the 2nd week of November.
