[talk] The tax evasion controversy is heating up...

Cha Eun-woo, who had a good image

Suddenly, there's a tax evasion controversy;;;;;;;;

It is said that a non-existent corporation A was established in the name of Cha Eun-woo's mother to reduce income tax by 45%...

If this is true... I'm going to get a lot of hate.

I'm in the military, so how can I explain myself through my agency or family?

How nice it would be if people paid their taxes faithfully as much as they earned...

According to SPOTV News on the 26th, Cha Eun-woo recently appointed Sejong, a large law firm, and is preparing legal procedures for taxation by the Seoul Regional Tax Office (National Tax Service). Sejong recently hired former Adore CEO Min Hee-jin, as well as the group. New Jeans He has been handling lawsuits for termination of exclusive contracts.

In the first half of last year, the National Tax Service's Investigation Bureau 4 conducted an intensive tax investigation against Cha Eun-woo, notifying him of an income tax penalty exceeding 20 billion won. This is the largest amount ever levied on a Korean celebrity.

Cha Eun-woo's income was split between his agency Fantagio and Corporation A, established by his mother, Choi. The National Tax Service (NTS) believed that Cha Eun-woo and Choi had used a scheme to reduce their income tax by up to 45% by creating a non-existent Corporation A and applying a corporate tax rate that was 20% lower than their income tax rate. Furthermore, the address of Corporation A was confirmed to match that of an eel restaurant in Ganghwa Island run by his parents, adding to the controversy.

As a result, Fantagio was levied a fine of 8.2 billion won in August of last year. Cha Eun-woo is not satisfied with the National Tax Service's decision and is requesting a pre-tax review.

The public's reaction to Cha Eun-woo is nothing but cold as reports pour in every day. Netizens are unable to contain their anger, saying things like, "Just pay your taxes," "Go away," "That's amazing without even a single apology," "I wish they had punished him properly and made an example of him," "Why on earth did the National Tax Service wait?", "They made him wait for his military service before publishing the article, so just publish it," "This is disgusting," and "He lost something too big."

Cha Eun-woo was also embroiled in controversy over his 'dodging enlistment' as the National Tax Service was suspected of sending him a notice of investigation results after his enlistment procedures were completed at his request.

Cha Eun-woo enlisted in the military in July of last year and is currently serving in the military band. His scheduled discharge date is January 27, 2027.
