This isn't the first time the two have been rumored to be dating. Back in 2017, G-Dragon and Lee Joo-yeon were rumored to be dating. At the time, both sides denied the rumors, saying, "They're just close colleagues."
In 2019, Lee Joo-yeon was once again embroiled in dating rumors after she uploaded a video of herself with G-Dragon on her account and then deleted it. The video quickly spread online because of its affectionate atmosphere and the use of a deer face filter.
In November of the same year, the two also shared photos of themselves paragliding at the same location and at the same restaurant.
An entertainment media outlet also reported that Lee Joo-yeon and G-Dragon enjoyed a secret trip to Jeju Island. At the time, neither agency made an official statement.

몇 년째 꾸준히 열애설이 나오는 걸 보니, 정말 뭔 있을지도 모르겠네요. 친한 사이라고만 하기엔 묘한 증거들이 계속해서 나오는 것 같아 궁금합니다. 그래도 사생활이니 확실한 증거가 없으면 함부로 단정 지을 순 없겠죠. 두 사람의 진실은 본인들만 알겠네요.
