Science Art Project 'Good Morning Mr. G-Dragon' Photo KAIST Art & Technology Center
On April 9, the science art project 'Good Morning Mr. G-Dragon' that transmitted singer G-Dragon's song 'Home Sweet Home' into space was unveiled and became a hot topic. It was launched toward the constellation Leo, 7.9 billion light-years away, using satellite technology from the KAIST Space Research Institute. An AI art piece based on G-Dragon's iris data was projected onto the giant antenna, creating a spectacular sight. G-Dragon attended the event and expressed his feelings, saying, "If the emotions of someone living on Earth can wander through space and come back to them, it would be a deep comfort that can reach far and wide."

Who created this project and why? The main character is Professor Lee Jin-jun of the Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST and a media artist. The professor collaborated with several experts to successfully conduct the world's first art-science convergence broadcasting experiment. In 1984, he announced 'Good Morning Mr. G-Dragon' in the spirit of Nam June Paik's legendary media art project 'Good Morning Mr. Orwell'. Unlike Nam June Paik, who broadcasted to various parts of the globe via satellite, this time he turned his gaze to space and achieved a change in perspective. The professor is known as an expert in the field of convergence. Wiknick met with him to ask about this project and the direction of the AI era.
Good morning Mr. G-Dragon
Wow, that's amazing, launching it into space.
