When my muscles were stiff and my body was tense, the cold plunge taught me how to accept that tension." Jenny, who was soaking in ice water, said, "I've been pushing myself for the past few months and I've been refreshing my body and mind with a cold plunge every night," showing off her ability to relax her body and focus her mind with deep breathing.

The cold plunge introduced by Jenny refers to lowering the water temperature to 3 to 7 degrees Celsius and holding it for up to 3 minutes. It is known to have the benefits of not only quick recovery after exercise, but also reducing stress and fat, increasing concentration, and strengthening the health of skin and hair. However, since it is a serious stimulus to the body, you should be mindful of your physical condition and the duration of the bath.

“I remind myself to stay calm and be okay,” said Jenny, who was fully submerged in the cold water while catching her breath. “Once you get into the water, it’ll feel cold, but you have to trust yourself.” She continued, “I usually set an alarm for about two minutes and 30 seconds, but when the alarm goes off, I say, ‘Let’s see how long I can do today,’ and increase the time by 5 to 10 seconds.”

One benefit of the cold plunge, as cited by Jenny, is that it helps to calm the mind.

"I didn't know how to deal with situations like sleeping in pain or having tight muscles, but I learned to embrace the tension," Jenny said. "I did a cold plunge every night after finishing my day's work. I was scared every time I did it, but overcoming that fear and pushing myself became a kind of motivation. It made me believe that I was stronger than I thought."

Jenny, who got out of the bath, said with satisfaction, "I immediately felt the blood flowing through my body and I felt good. I felt energized and ready to do something."
