Singer Lee Chang-sub has once again established his presence as a musical actor.

I wanted to see the musical Memphis;;; but in the end, I couldn't see it and the Seoul performance ended~~

The cast was amazing too~~~ but the musical tickets are so expensive~~

But I definitely have to see Changsub's musical someday~~ haha

Lee Chang-seop showed off his outstanding skills on stage in the musical 'Memphis', which was performed at the Chungmu Art Center for about four months until the 20th.

The musical "Memphis" is set in the 1950s Southern city of Memphis and is based on the true story of legendary DJ Dewey Phillips, who introduced Black music to white society. When it premiered in Korea in 2023, it sold out immediately upon opening. At the 8th Korea Musical Awards, it garnered the most nominations in 10 categories and won five awards, earning recognition for its box office success, artistic quality, and buzz.

Lee Chang-sub took on the role of Huey, the first white DJ to spread rock and roll, which was considered black music, and dominated the stage with a variety of emotions, from his bold expression of his opinions and thoughts in the strict social atmosphere of the time to his moving moments of breaking down racial discrimination and conflict.

In particular, he received favorable reviews from the audience for his overwhelming singing ability and natural acting that dominated the stage while passionately singing rock and roll, and for completing his own 'Huey' in the re-performance following the premiere.

Lee Chang-sub, who finished performing for about four months starting in June of this year, expressed his sincere feelings through his agency Fantagio, saying, "I am grateful that I was able to play Huey once again. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the actors and staff I worked with. Without you all, there would be no Huey."

He then left a lasting impression with the words, "I hope we can meet again someday. This was Lee Chang-sub, who played the role of Huey until now. Thank you."

Lee Chang-seop has shined on stage with his stable vocals and delicate acting skills in numerous works such as the musicals 'Empress Myeongseong', 'Marie Antoinette', and 'Winter Wanderer', and has solidified his position as a musical actor by participating in the re-run of 'Memphis' following its premiere in 2023.

He also received much love in February of last year for his remake of the webtoon "Fairy Tale" OST and the title song of the group Ken's first album, "Cheon Sang Yeon," which ranked first on the karaoke charts in 2024. He then released "One More Goodbye," a reinterpretation of Sung Si-kyung's hit song, and continued the remake hit by being included in the OST of the movie "First Love Ending."

On the 19th, he released the first OST 'Alone' for the new MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Let's Go to the Moon', proving his capabilities as an 'all-rounder vocalist' who can cover all genres including solo artist, musicals, and OSTs, so attention is focused on his future activities.
