Actors Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon are starring in the fantasy romantic comedy 'Gwigung', raising expectations for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama.

On the 6th, SBS revealed the script reading site with the main actors of 'Gwigung' (written by Yoon Soo-jung, directed by Yoon Sung-sik). 'Gwigung' is a fantasy romance comedy about a shaman named Yeo-ri (Kim Ji-yeon) who rejects the fate of a psychic, and Kang Cheol-i, an imoogi trapped in the body of Yeo-ri's first love, Yoon Gap (Yook Sung-jae), who become entangled with an eight-faced ghost who holds a grudge against the royal family.

This production is the result of a collaboration between director Yoon Sung-sik, who directed 'Mr. Queen', 'The Best Lee Soon-shin', and 'Gaksital', and writer Yoon Soo-jung, who wrote 'The Face of the King' and 'Cheeky Go Go'. The solid acting skills and fresh cast of actors including Yook Sung-jae, Kim Ji-yeon, Kim Ji-hoon, and Kim Young-kwang in a special appearance are drawing attention.

At the open script reading site, the actors brought the atmosphere of the play to life with an immersion that rivaled actual filming. In particular, Yook Sung-jae, despite being his first historical drama, perfectly expressed the contrasting personalities of the affectionate detective Yoon Gap and the evil spirit Kang Cheol-i, who has lived for a thousand years, naturally playing two roles.
