On the 2nd, Kakao Entertainment announced that IU and Byun Woo-seok have confirmed their casting in the new MBC drama 'The 21st Century Grand Prince' (tentative title). 'The 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife' (tentative title) is set in the 21st century constitutional monarchy of the Republic of Korea. It is a romance that breaks down status between a woman who has everything but is annoyed because her status is merely a 'commoner' and a man who is the son of the king but is sad because he cannot have anything.
In the drama, IU plays the role of Sung Hee-joo, the second child of a wealthy family with the highest ranking in the business world, who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and has everything from gorgeous looks to intelligence and a fierce competitive spirit. Her commoner status, which she thought was nothing special, becomes an obstacle in her life and she becomes entangled with Prince Ian.
Byun Woo-seok takes on the role of Prince Lee An of the 21st century constitutional monarchy Republic of Korea. Born as the second son of a king, he is destined to have nothing but royal status.
It is already a well-known fact among industry insiders that Byun Woo-seok, who decided on his next project after 7 months, received numerous scripts after 'Seonjae Up and Run'.
