[All] Day6, solo concert success… Hot heat fills Gocheok Sky Dome

DAY6 held their solo concert '2024 DAY6 Special Concert 'The Present'' at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul on the 20th and 21st.

This is the first performance under the name of a 'special concert' in about a year since the Christmas special concert 'DAY6 Christmas Special Concert 'The Present: You are My Day'' held from December 22 to 24, 2023, making fans' year-end excitement even greater.

In particular, this concert garnered a lot of attention as DAY6 was the first K-pop band to enter Gocheok Sky Dome, which is considered the largest indoor concert hall in Korea, and proved its popularity by selling out all 38,000 seats on both days. On the last day of the concert, the 21st, an online paid live broadcast was also held simultaneously through the Beyond LIVE platform.

They started the concert with 'Colors' included in their debut album 'The Day' in September 2015 and continued with 'I Didn't Know That Was Your Love', 'COUNTER', and 'Those Were Happy Days'. The large screen proportional to the size of the concert hall sometimes took the audience into the forest and sometimes into special memories, heightening the atmosphere of the songs. The members enthralled the scene with their opening remarks and aspirations, saying, "This is our first time coming to Gocheok Sky Dome, and it's surprising how big it is. I'm so happy to be here. This day has come for us and for My Day (fandom name: My Day). We're really touched. Thank you for being with us at the end of the year, and we'll make this concert one of the best ever."

DAY6 expressed their sincerity by saying, "The concert title 'The Present' means a 'gift' for you, and since it's the end of the year, it contains the meaning of letting go of your worries and focusing on the 'present'. We hope that the 'present' we spend with you can be a good 'gift'." Just like their wish, the concert was composed like DAY6's musical gift set, increasing satisfaction. Not only did they feature ballads like 'Still Living There' and 'Like the Flowing Wind' that stimulated the emotions, but they also created a festival that sent shivers down your spine with high-energy sections like 'Help Me Rock&Roll' and 'Shoot Me'. They also gifted fans with a 'now' moment that will remain in their memories even after time passes with encore songs like 'Welcome to the Show', 'Melt', and 'Become a Page'.

The fantastic band live of Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon as well as various other sounds echoed throughout the Gocheok Sky Dome. A total of 9 songs including 'Congratulations', 'Only Sad Ending', and 'Love Me or Leave Me' were performed with a large orchestra, captivating the audience's hearts with an arrangement that seemed to tell another story along with the four instruments of guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums. The excellent sing-along by My Day, a signature song placed on top of the members' accompaniment, also added to the emotion, and the flash event by the sold-out audience during the singing of 'You Were Pretty' completed a beautiful moment that seemed to fill the night sky of Gocheok Sky Dome with stars.

DAY6, who finished the special year 2024 with their fans, said, "Thanks to My Day, we've performed at Gocheok Sky Dome. So many people have congratulated us, and we were able to come this far because of you all. We are deeply moved to be able to perform here as a band, and we're grateful for the experiences we've never had before." They also expressed their sincerity by saying, "Next year will be our 10th debut anniversary. We always think about how we can repay the love you've given us, but I think we'll find the answer if we draw strength from each other. Since My Day is our happiness and pride, we will do our best to become a DAY6 that My Day can be proud of. Let's walk slowly together for a long time. I love you."

Having become the first K-pop band to enter the Gocheok Sky Dome, they will continue to be active in 2025. They will resume their new world tour 'DAY6 3RD WORLD TOUR < FOREVER YOUNG >' in Kaohsiung in January next year, expanding its scale with sold-out tickets and additional tour venues and performances. All eyes are on DAY6's 10th debut anniversary in 2025, when they will continue their great journey by gathering the past and present of the consistent efforts of the 'band you can trust and listen to'.
