The voice of DAY6 member Wonpil brought good luck to many music fans on New Year's Day and in their future paths.

According to Melon, a domestic music site, on January 1st, Wonpil's "Wish Me Luck" entered Melon's main chart TOP 100 at 98th place as of midnight that day. Its popularity did not stop at a brief moment, and it is currently at 94th place as of 9 AM and 98th place as of 10 AM.

'Wish Me Good Luck' is a track from Wonpil's first solo album 'Pilmography' released in February 2022. It is a song that conveys good luck to everyone who is about to embark on a new journey, mixed with the sounds of future bass and disco genres.

The foundation of this unusual reverse run is the power of good lyrics. This song, which was written solely by Wonpil and composed with producer Hong Ji-sang, known as the fifth member of DAY6, has been selected as the first song of the new year for many people for two consecutive years with lyrics that give courage and luck to many who are at the starting line of something new, such as "Now it's time to start the long adventure," "How many more hopes in the future/And how many more despairs/And cold laughter or tears of joy/I don't know if I'll taste them/But please wish me luck/Wish me happiness on the road ahead." On December 31st of last year, it jumped from being off the charts to 153rd place on Melon's daily chart.

On the first day of the new year, various music charts are seeing a reverse run of songs with hopeful lyrics, including Wonpil's "Wish Me Good Luck," as well as DAY6's (Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, Dowoon) group song "HAPPY," which has been occupying the top spots on the charts for a long time, as well as "Can Be a Page," "Welcome to the Show," "Barae," and "Best Part."

DAY6, who have established themselves as a 'lucky group', are celebrating their long-awaited 10th debut anniversary this year. This year, they plan to focus on performances, which are the foundation of the band and represent DAY6's original intentions. They already successfully kicked off their third world tour 'FOREVER YOUNG' at the Inspire Arena in Yeongjongdo, Incheon in September of last year.

DAY6 will be going on a tour starting with the Kaohsiung concerts on January 18th and 19th, followed by Hong Kong on January 25th and 26th, Busan on February 1st and 2nd, Osaka on the 12th and 13th, Tokyo on the 15th and 16th, Manila on the 22nd, Daejeon on March 2nd and 3rd, Gwangju on the 15th and 16th, Daegu on the 29th and 30th, Sydney on April 6th, Melbourne on the 9th, Auckland, New Zealand on the 12th, Los Angeles on the 16th and 17th, New York on the 19th, Yokohama on the 26th and 27th, and Jakarta on May 3rd. Of these, the concert to be held at the Jakarta International Stadium in Indonesia on May 3rd will be DAY6’s first solo stadium performance since their debut.

Wonpil said, “2025 is DAY6’s 10th anniversary. There are things we are looking forward to, and I hope MyDay members will look forward to them as well.” Dowoon said, “I would like to create a song that MyDay and DAY6 complete together someday.”
