On October 14th, TV CHOSUN announced, "Entertainment godfather Lee Kyung-kyu, actress So Yi-hyun, and former EXO member Xiumin have confirmed their participation as the new masters of 'Mr. Trot 3'."

Lee Kyung-kyu, who falls asleep while listening to trot, said, "I really listen to trot a lot and like it. In particular, when it comes to 'Baeho,' there is no one who is more of an expert than me." He added, "The current trot craze started with the movie 'Masked Dalho.' I will try to discover the next generation of trot stars with foresight ahead of its time."

The energetic actress So Yi-hyun said, "My father-in-law released a trot album and also participated in auditions. My husband also worked as a trot singer and even released a trot song. I am someone who cannot be separated from trot." 'Mr. Trot 3' closed its final round of contestant recruitment on October 10 and began full-scale production. The production team said, "Out of a total of 12,000 applicants, there were over 1,000 participants who participated in the production team's preliminary screening through document screening. It wasn't easy to select 100 people to appear on the show among so many talented and attractive applicants."

The production team then expressed confidence, saying, "The final 100 contestants beat the high competition rate of about 120 to 1 to make it to the preliminary round, so there will be many who will surprise viewers."

'Mr. Trot 3' begins its journey towards becoming the third Trot Emperor, following Lim Young-woong and Ahn Sung-hoon, by selecting the final 100 people who will go on to the preliminary stage. 'Mr. Trot 3' is scheduled to air at the end of this year.
