[All] So are SM and KBS simultaneously blocking Xiumin from appearing on TV?

After Xiumin released his new song recently, he was planning to appear on a music show.

There is an article saying that KBS Music Bank said it would be difficult for SM singers to appear at the same time?

Is this retaliation for Chen Baek-shi leaving SM and going to Wonhundrad?

Is it okay for a major entertainment company to act this petty? It's just... ridiculous.

Group EXO's Xiumin claimed that he suffered damages in relation to his appearance on KBS' 'Music Bank'.

One Hundred, the parent company of INB100, which Xiumin is a part of, stated on the afternoon of the 4th regarding Xiumin's music broadcast activities, "We tried to meet with the broadcasting companies several times, but KBS was silent and did not even respond to our calls."

They continued, "Recently, KBS unofficially told us that it is impossible for Xiumin to appear on programs with SM Entertainment singers, such as KBS2's 'Music Bank,'" and "We have continuously contacted KBS up until today to convey the message, 'Please think of the artist and the fans first.' However, even this has been ignored."

Additionally, they said, "If this unfair situation surrounding our artists continues, our artists will inevitably be unable to perform on music shows during the weeks that SM Entertainment artists are promoting their albums." They added, "We believe that it is extremely unfair for KBS, a public broadcasting company, to make this decision based solely on the position of a specific company."

Xiumin debuted in 2012 as a member of the boy group EXO under SM Entertainment. In 2023, he transferred to INB100, a subsidiary of ONE HUNDRED, along with members Baekhyun and Chen. Xiumin is scheduled to release his solo album 'Interview X' on the 10th.

Hello. This is Wonhundred.
We would like to inform you of an important matter regarding the appearance of an artist from our label on KBS.

INB100's XIUMIN is set to release his solo album 'Interview X' on March 10th, his first in 2 years and 6 months.
As this is the first solo album to be released in a long time, our staff tried to meet with the broadcasting station several times to ensure that Xiumin could show his fans a good performance through a music show, but KBS remained silent and did not even respond to our calls.

In this situation, KBS has recently unofficially stated that it is impossible for Xiumin to appear on programs featuring SM Entertainment singers, such as KBS2's 'Music Bank'.

It was a difficult position to accept, but we continued to contact KBS to convey the message, “Please think of the artists and fans first.” However, even this was ignored.

I think this is because the public broadcasting company blocked the meeting between artists and fans through broadcasting due to vested interests with a specific agency, not because of music or any other reason.

If the unfair situation surrounding our artists continues, our artists will inevitably be unable to perform on music shows during the weeks that SM Entertainment artists are promoting their albums.

We believe that it is extremely unfair for KBS, a public broadcaster, to make this decision based solely on the position of a specific company, and while we have done our best until the end to resolve this situation, we are very sorry to have to deliver this unfortunate news to our fans.

Regarding KBS, which has made it difficult for other artists, including Xiumin, to appear on 'Music Bank', we will continuously strive to be fair, and we will do our best to ensure that many artists will not suffer damages due to such unfair practices in the future.
Although Xiumin's KBS appearance is impossible for now, we will not give up until the end for the artist and fans. We also promise to come back soon with other methods to create a much better event and create wonderful stages and memories.

Once again, we apologize for disappointing our artists and fans, and we will continue to work hard to correct our unreasonable practices and do our best to become a company that truly serves artists.
