Q. It’s been a while since you released a new album. How do you feel?
“One thing on my To Do List that I’ve had on for a long time has been ticked off. I feel quite accomplished.”
Q. The name of this album is 'Letter To Myself'. Is there a message you wanted to convey to yourself and to the listeners?
“I want to tell myself, ‘Let’s do what we always do,’ and I want to tell my listeners, ‘I hope you’ll continue to be thirsty in the future, and I’ll continue to fill you up.’”
Q. What did you focus on the most while working on the album?
“I focused and paid attention to each song as if it were a title track.”
Q. What kind of song is the title song 'Letter To Myself' and what kind of emotion did you want to convey?
“If you were to tell me this, it could get quite serious or heavy, but I wanted to make it as bland as possible. Not ticklish.”
Q. Your previous work, 'To. X', is still maintaining its position at the top of major music charts. How do you feel about it?
“Honestly, it was unexpected. And I’m grateful. I think it’s because so many people sympathized with me.”
Q. Besides the title track, is there any other song you would like to recommend?
“Blur, an R&B song with a strong mood, is a song that fits well with this season.”
Q. Is there a moment that stands out the most while preparing this album?
“I remember there were different opinions about choosing the title song. This time too, the company and I chose different paths.”
Q. What are the main points to watch for in the music video for the title song 'Letter To Myself'? Also, if there were any memorable episodes while filming, please tell us.
“I acted out an angry scene in Korean with a foreign actor I was filming with. It was a new experience for me since I don’t usually get angry.”
Q. Lastly, please say a word to Sowon, who has been waiting for Taeyeon's album for a long time.
“I hope you enjoy this album with your body and mind, as we prepared it with great effort, imagining a day when we could enjoy it together at a concert hall.”
