Highlight was active under the name Beast until February 2017, but did not renew their contract with Cube Entertainment and formed a new agency with the members, failing to obtain trademark rights for the name Beast.

However, last month, Highlight regained their team name after 7 years by completing an agreement with Cube Entertainment regarding the use of the Beast trademark. They also regained Beast's fandom name 'Beauty', which was lost separately from Highlight's fandom name 'Light'.

Around Us, the agency, said, "While they will continue their activities under the team name Highlight, we are deeply moved to be able to show the audience the team name BEAST separately from our activity name. We hope that this news will be a meaningful gift to Highlight and their fans as they celebrate their 15th anniversary."
