Lim Young-woong is parting ways with Jeju Samdasoo after a year.

Jeju Development Corporation, which produces and sells Jeju Samdasoo, announced on the 11th that Lim Young-woong's model contract will be completed at the end of this month.

Baek Gyeong-hun, president of Jeju Development Corporation, said at a press conference to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its founding on that day, “We have a good opportunity to introduce Jeju Samdasoo to the main buyers of bottled water products through Lim Young-woong,” and “We are looking for a new model to match the new promotional strategy.”

Regarding Lim Young-woong, whose contract is ending, CEO Baek said, “Lim Young-woong is so busy that it’s difficult to film in Jeju, and we’re planning to change the model to fit the new brand concept.” He added, “We’re selecting a model who can have a universal appeal, and starting this year, we’re planning to diversify our channels by utilizing models who are famous on SNS in addition to our main models.”

Lim Young-woong was selected as the representative brand model in March of last year, following singer IU, who was the longest-serving model for Jeju Samdasoo. Since March of last year, he has been promoting the brand as “water you can trust and drink.” In line with the image, messages emphasizing the excellence of water quality have been delivered in the ‘Land Protection’ and ‘Water Quality Management’ sections.

Jeju Development Corporation, established in 1995, launched its flagship brand, Jeju Samdasoo, in 1998 and has maintained the top spot in the domestic drinking water market to this day.
