Gallup Korea conducted a survey to find out who will be the most popular singer in 2025. The results were compiled by asking 5,148 people aged 13 and older to choose their three favorite singers three times in July, September, and November. In this survey, IU took first place with 20.1% support among those under 30, while Lim Young-woong took first place with 29.1% support among those over 40, clearly showing a clear generational difference in the representative singers.
Among those in their 30s and under, IU was followed by Blackpink, Espa, Ive, and New Jeans in 2nd to 5th place, followed by BTS, G-Dragon, Rosé, Hwang Ga Ram, and Day6. The lineup is literally a balanced mix of idols, solo artists, and bands that today's generation enjoys.
In the 40s and older age group, Lim Young-woong has maintained the top spot for six consecutive years, and this year, he continued his activities through drama OSTs and his second full-length album 'IM HERO 2', and increased his influence by being active in all areas including performances, broadcasts, and advertisements. Jang Yoon-jeong took second place, Lee Chan-won third, Young Tak fourth, and Song Ga-in fifth, and with IU, Jin Sung, Park Seo-jin, Hwang Ga-ram, and Na Hoon-a also ranking high, the result was that the strength of trot and singers who resonate with generations were noticeable at the same time.
In the 'Song of the Year' survey, those under 30 chose BLACKPINK's 'JUMP' as the number 1 song, while those over 40 chose Hwang Ga Ram's 'I'm a Firefly' as the number 1 song. In the rankings for those over 40, songs like 'Love Always Run Away', 'First Marriage', 'I Only Trust Me Now', and 'At Andong Station' continued to hold the top spots, showing that while each generation's favorite styles are quite different, the survey once again shows that the influence of representative singers of each generation, such as Lim Young-woong and BLACKPINK, remains steadfast.
