[talk] “Lim Young-woong Concert Pre-order” is a lie… Beware of Smishing
Caution is advised as it has been reported that text messages suspected of being fraudulent have been sent to an unspecified number of people, inducing them to purchase tickets to popular singer Lim Young-woong's (33) year-end concert by offering advance reservations.
On the 14th, reports of receiving smishing text messages related to the reservation of tickets for Lim Young-woong's concert spread online. One informant posted a capture of the text message on a community site, saying, "Those who don't know much about it will probably think the content is real and click on the link. Be careful." Afterwards, cases of receiving text messages with the same content followed.
Looking at the text message, it introduces the performance date, location, seat class, etc. just like a general ticket reservation guide. Then, along with the message that “you can reserve tickets right away through advance reservation,” there is a link to the Naver Talk Talk address where you can inquire about related information with the seller.
When I actually accessed the link and asked if I could purchase in advance, the person asked for my desired date and seat and then told me the price. Then, they gave me a homepage address that looked like a ticket reservation site and said, “Currently, you can purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. Sales will end when the first-come, first-served basis for advance reservations is full.”
If you access the homepage address provided, a site with Lim Young-woong's concert video on the top main page will appear. At the bottom, there are ticket reservation menus for not only Lim Young-woong's concert but also other famous singers' year-end concerts. If you look closely, the menu composition is crude, but middle-aged and older people who are not familiar with ticket reservations may mistake it for a regular site.
