The 35th regular academic conference of the Society for Korean Popular Culture and Music presented a detailed analysis of Lim Young-woong's national popularity.

At an academic conference held at the Korea National Open University in Seoul on the 30th of last month, Professor Kim Hee-sun of Kookmin University and Professor Kim Hee-sun (same name) of Kyonggi University cited Lim Young-woong's unique singing style as the reason for his popularity.

The two professors said, "Songs like (Noh Sa-yeon's) 'Wish' have a narrow range and are low, so they are easy to shout." They also evaluated that Lim Young-woong showed a different interpretation from other singers by not expressing his emotions on the outside but rather suppressing them inside.
