The Netflix series 'The Return of Superman' is garnering much attention as the new work of director Kim Won-seok, who gave deep resonance and warm comfort to viewers.

Director Kim Won-seok, who has shown the power of empathy and solidarity and given warm encouragement to people through various works regardless of genre, returns with the Netflix series 'Cheated on Me.' 'Cheated on Me' is a Netflix series that unfolds the adventurous lives of Jeju Island-born 'rebellious girl' Aesoon and 'iron man' Gwan-sik over four seasons.

Director Kim Won-seok, who has been loved by the public and critics for his unique directing ability that delicately portrays characters' emotions in works such as the dramas "My Mister," "Signal," and "Misaeng," explained his directing intentions, saying, "I wanted this work to be a tribute to my grandparents and parents who have lived fiercely, and a song of encouragement for the future generation of children." Director Kim Won-seok, who expressed his hopes for this work to break down invisible barriers such as generation and gender and become something that everyone can relate to, said, "I put a lot of effort into the realistic yet beautiful screen, delicate acting, and heart-wrenching music," and shared his thoughts ahead of the release of "Bokssak Cheotda."

Director Kim Won-seok then said, "The era in 'Bokssak Sokkasuda' was a major dramatic element that acted as an obstacle or challenge for the characters, so the art and technical staff all put their heart and soul into properly expressing it," raising expectations for the diverse things to see that will be shown over the period from 1960 to 2025 in the piece. Furthermore, in order to effectively express the changes in the times and the emotions of the characters over the past 60 years, contemporary pop songs were carefully selected and inserted, further enriching 'Bokssak Sokkasuda'.

Here, writer Lim Sang-choon, who received much love for dramas such as 'When the Camellia Blooms' and 'Fight for My Way', also participated. Regarding writer Lim Sang-choon's script, which gave each character a living narrative and maximized the charm of the actors who played the characters, director Kim Won-seok said, "It's hard to pick just one thing that drew me to the lovable and three-dimensional characters, the writer's signature humor and witty lines, and the heart-wrenching incident. I was drawn to everything about it," sharing his thoughts on working together for the first time. Just as director Kim Won-seok said, "I hope this will be a work that remains in people's hearts even as time passes," 'Cheated on You' is expected to present viewers with not only fun and laughter, but also emotion and a long aftertaste as it depicts the characters' adventure-filled lives that unfold in the colorful four seasons of life.
