On the 27th, the Asia Brand Research Institute, a big data evaluation agency, announced that Jung Hae-in was selected as number one in the 'K-Brand Index' movie actor of the year category.

The K-Brand Index is a big data system developed by the Asia Brand Research Institute in collaboration with domestic and international researchers. Unlike existing big data analysis systems, it is conducted based on verification by a field-specific advisory committee from candidate sample extraction to index selection.

This year's K-Brand Index Movie Actor of the Year category analyzed 1,157,478,513 online big data items from January 1, 2024 to November 30, 2024, targeting the 30 nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

In the K-Brand Index Actor of the Year category, Jung Hae-in took first place, while Jung Woo-sung (2nd), Kim Go-eun (3rd), Hwang Jung-min (4th), Yoo Hae-jin (5th), Lee Je-hoon (6th), Lee Do-hyun (7th), Lee Sung-min (8th), Choi Min-sik (9th), and Lim Ji-yeon (10th) took the honor of making it into the TOP 10.

The K-Brand Index, which selects representative brands in each sector of Korea, is calculated as a combined figure that applies the weight exclusion criteria of the Trend-Media-Social-Community-Activation (TA)-Positive-Negative indices.

Ryu Won-seon, head of the research center at the Asia Brand Research Institute, explained, “In 2024, Korean films will be struggling in the worst swamp of all time, and the gap between the rich and the poor will widen. ‘The Grave’ (11.91 million), ‘The Outlaws 4’ (11.5 million), and ‘Veteran 2’ (7.52 million) led the box office success, but the polar opposites between films with over 5 million viewers and those with less than 1 million viewers are accelerating. In order to overcome the current slump, the role of Korean actors, the main characters of K-Movies, is being highlighted anew.”
