YouTuber 'Taldeoksuyongso', who was brought to trial on charges of defaming singer Kang Daniel, did not appear at the trial.
On the 15th, Judge Lee Jun-goo of the 18th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court was going to hold a final trial for Mr. Park, the operator of the YouTube channel '탈덕수통장', who was indicted on charges of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, but postponed the trial due to Mr. Park's absence.
Mr. Park's attorney explained, "He had surgery to remove a tumor in his finger last May, but was unable to attend due to extreme pain."
The court said, “If you submit a statement of absence on the same day, it will be quite embarrassing for the court,” and “If you fail to appear at the next hearing, we will issue an arrest warrant.”
