Singer Kang Daniel revealed his thoughts on resuming his activities after suffering a 1.7 billion won fraud loss.

On the 23rd, Kang Daniel held an interview to commemorate the release of his 5th mini album 'ACT' at COEX Shinhan Card Artium in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Kang Daniel's new album is also the first work released by his new agency, Aera.

Kang Daniel, who met the press for the first time in a long time, started by saying, "I'm so grateful that I can finally stand on stage again."

In 2019, Kang Daniel established the entertainment agency Connect Entertainment and continued his activities. However, after discovering the illegal activities of the major shareholder of Connect Entertainment, he went through painful days for about a year.

After much deliberation, Kang Daniel filed a criminal complaint against the major shareholder on May 20 for charges of forgery of private documents, embezzlement, breach of trust, violation of information and communications network, and computer fraud.

Kang Daniel explained through his legal representative, "The client found out in January 2023 that an advance distribution contract worth 10 billion won was concluded in December 2022 by impersonating the CEO and stamping the corporate seal without the client's knowledge." He added, "It was also confirmed that at least 2 billion won was withdrawn from the agency's account through overseas remittance and business income processing without any legal procedures such as approval from the CEO, board of directors resolution, or shareholders' meeting resolution."

Regarding the charges of breach of trust, violation of information and communications networks, and computer fraud, the court stated, "The client confirmed that over 1.7 billion won was withdrawn from his bank account without his knowledge."

When asked about this, Kang Daniel said, "It was complicated, and it felt like five years had gone down the drain and I felt empty," and added, "If you ask me how I persevered, I think it was because music became my best friend." He continued, "That's how I prepared for this album. I didn't leave the house for three months. I broke my best record."

In addition, Kang Daniel said, "My lowest weight was 63kg. I lost about 14kg in 5~6 months. These days, I'm doing survival exercise, whether it's treadmill or jumping rope. I'm doing it again because I need to build up my basic physical strength to perform on stage. I'm eating three meals a day right now and I weigh 73kg," giving an idea of ​​how much pain he's been through.

Kang Daniel revealed about the fraud case, "The police are currently investigating and it is still ongoing."

Kang Daniel, who returned after completing work on his new album in a relatively short period of time despite a series of hardships, said, "I didn't want to make the fans wait any longer, and the song was good," and expressed his gratitude.
