Mr. Park, the operator of the Cyber Wrecker detention center, appealed the first trial ruling ordering him to pay 30 million won to Kang Daniel.
On the 12th, Mr. Park filed an appeal against the first trial ruling for the 100 million won damages lawsuit filed by Kang Daniel.
Earlier, Judge Lee Kun-hee of the 29th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court ruled on the 27th of last month, "Mr. Park must pay 30 million won to Kang Daniel."
In response, Kang Daniel's agency, Aira, immediately appealed. Kang Daniel's side stated, "Considering the nature of the crime, the method of the crime, and the artist's mental distress due to continuous and repeated exposure, this is an extremely light punishment." They continued, "It is too easy to spread false information, but correcting those lies causes tens of thousands of times more pain and leaves indelible scars. That is why, with the same mindset as an unfair sentencing in a criminal trial, we have decided to file an appeal after much deliberation."
He continued, "I think that those who exploit others' suffering for economic gain and live off of our society without any sense of guilt need to be punished more severely. This is especially true for victims, who are under intense pressure from the very beginning of preparing for the lawsuit, and who are going through a difficult and long fight. I hope that they will receive a fair and severe price for their crimes in the appeal."

3000만원이 뭔가요. 대체.. 30억이라고 해도 부족한 판에.. 1억도 많이 봐준 거 같은데 거기에 또 항소를 하다니

3천만원이라는 금액이 적다고 생각했는데, 항소라 정말 실망스럽네요. 강다니엘 씨의 정신적 고통에 비하면 턱없이 부족한 금액이라는 생각입니다. 피해자의 고통을 생각하면 더욱 엄중한 처벌이 필요해 보입니다. 항소심에서 진실이 밝혀지고 정당한 판결이 내려지길 바랍니다.
