[All] You're saying you were forced to leave because of your acting skills?
[TV Report=Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Actor Lee Je-hoon revealed that he was suddenly notified of his departure in the past.
On the KBS1TV current affairs and cultural program 'Morning Yard' broadcast on the morning of the 3rd, Lee Je-hoon appeared as a guest in the 'Tuesday Invitation' corner and shared various stories.
On this day, the MC introduced Lee Je-hoon by saying, "He is an upright actor who has never had a single scandal in his 19 years of acting" and "I heard that he recently got into a huge fight because of soju."
Lee Je-hoon then mentioned the movie 'Soju War' that was released on the 30th of last month, saying, "I've been fighting with actor Yoo Hae-jin these days."
'Soju War' is a story about Jong-rok, a financial director whose soju company is his life, and In-beom, an employee of a global investment company who only pursues results, who face off for the fate of South Korea's national soju during the 1997 IMF foreign exchange crisis. In the drama, Lee Je-hoon plays In-beom, an employee of 'Sol Queen', a global investment company that prioritizes success.
Lee Je-hoon recalled on this day, “When I was in my third year of high school, I thought about what I wanted to do, and since I had a dream of becoming an actor, I decided that I should go to the Department of Theater and Film.”
He continued, “But when I told my family about it, they tried to dissuade me, saying, ‘How can you become an actor? This isn’t something that just anyone can do. ’” He added, “I think I agreed with those words because there was so much uncertainty.”
Lee Je-hoon said, "I was originally a science major, so I ended up going to an engineering school. Even though I was taking classes at school, my heart didn't move and I felt depressed," and confessed, "I decided to work hard on what I wanted to do for a year or two before going to the military, and went to a theater company in Daehangno."
He recalled, “I had the opportunity to learn acting little by little by going to a theater company in Daehangno, working hard at odd jobs, and learning from my seniors and directors.” He continued, “Actually, I did a lot of part-time jobs because acting alone wasn’t enough.”
He said, “I was so happy and proud that they gave me the opportunity to act as the main character in a new creative play,” and “I remember acting with excitement, but my seniors and the director said, He confessed, “I was notified of my departure, saying, ‘I think you still lack the qualities and attitude as an actor to stand in a play as the main character.’”
Lee Je-hoon confessed, "I was so shocked that I couldn't speak. Nevertheless, he said, 'Do you want to try playing a small role as an 80-year-old man? '" and, "It was a brief role, but I remember that I didn't hesitate and said, 'I'll try my best,' and that was how I first stood on stage."
Meanwhile, the movie 'Soju War', which features a full lineup of trustworthy actors including Lee Je-hoon and Yoo Hae-jin, is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
