[My Daily = Reporter Seung-gil Lee] Singer Seung-hwan Jung's 20s were always spent with his agency Antenna Music and CEO Hee-yeol Yoo. After completing his military service, Seung-hwan Jung revealed his feelings for his mentor Hee-yeol Yoo.
We recently met Jung Seung-hwan, who is making a comeback with the single 'Spring', at the Antenna building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Jung Seung-hwan began by saying, "It's been almost two years since my comeback. I thought I would get used to it quickly, but going to the recording studio and stuff... I thought, 'That's right, I was a singer.' I think I still thought of myself as a soldier subconsciously. There was such an overwhelming moment."
Jung Seung-hwan recalled the time when he was preparing for a new album while on leave from the military, saying, "We started talking about this album around October of last year when I was on leave. We talked about how to make plans before I was discharged. From then on, we talked about making a comeback around April or May."

Jung Seung-hwan, who is in his 20s and approaching his 30s. While recalling the process of preparing for this comeback, Jung Seung-hwan naturally mentioned Yoo Hee-yeol. "(Yoo Hee-yeol) always took the lead and gave me feedback when preparing an album, but this time, he just watched from behind and said, 'I'll take care of it,' and left. I think the pressure increased because he believed in me."
Jung Seung-hwan confessed, "When I first entered Antenna, I was 20 years old. Of course, I had met the CEO as a judge on 'K-Pop Star' before that... At the time, I didn't know anything, so the CEO raised me by teaching me step by step from the beginning. I relied a lot on the CEO in all aspects, including music. Sometimes firmly, and sometimes gently, he taught me many things. As 10 years passed and my world expanded, now when I'm riding a bicycle, there are times when I feel like he lets go of my hand and waves from behind."
When asked, "What is the biggest thing you learned from Yoo Hee-yeol?", Jung Seung-hwan became deep in thought. "I learned so much. I used to have narrow-minded and fixed ideas, but he made me more flexible both musically and as a person. He kept teaching me songs, and of course I didn't really get any help with that part... (laughter)", and added, "I think I learned an eye that can embrace the whole picture, as I was often criticized for being too stubborn."
"Spring" is Jung Seung Hwan's digital single, released approximately 1 year and 11 months after his previous work, "Epilogue." It contains a love story that resembles the appearance of spring, when frozen emotions begin to sprout as all things bloom. Jung Seung Hwan is expected to once again imprint his image as an "emotional ballader" by showing off his wide range of abilities by encompassing the similar yet different emotions of spring days through the title song "Just One More Day" and the b-side track "Let's Meet Again on the Spring Road Where Cherry Blossoms Fall."
Meanwhile, Jung Seung-hwan's digital single 'In Spring' will be released through various music sites at 6 PM on the 13th.
