[All] Yook Sungjae, Comeback with 1st Mini Album “Focusing on Bringing Out the Charm of a Refreshing Voice” (Q&A)

[Herald POP=Image Reporter] Yook Sung-jae revealed his thoughts on returning with 'Now'.

Singer and actor Yook Sung-jae released his first mini-album 'All About Blue' through various online music sites at 6 PM on the 19th.

This album is a new song that was released about a year after the first solo single 'EXHIBITION: Look Closely' released in May of last year. It contains a story about the coldest and warmest color, which can be a gloomy blue or a bright blue of youth.

Yook Sungjae said, “I’m excited to be able to sing for my fans after a long time,” and added, “I hope you’ll spend this hot summer feeling refreshed and cool while listening to my mini album.”

He continued, “I tried to bring out the refreshing feeling in my voice,” and added, “Rather than the low and mid-range tones that I usually enjoy singing in, I focused on bringing out the charm of my beautiful voice this time.”

Also, Yook Sungjae said, "Many people told me that they enjoyed the drama and variety show, so I prepared the album to share my happy feelings," and confessed, "So I didn't feel any pressure, and I was very excited."

Meanwhile, Yook Sungjae will be holding a solo fan concert, 'THE BLUE JOURNEY', at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the 21st and 22nd.

Q. You made a comeback after about a year with your first mini album, 'All About Blue'. How do you feel about it?

I'm excited to be able to sing to my fans after a long time. I hope you'll have a refreshing and cool time listening to my mini album during this hot summer.

Q. What kind of album is 'All About Blue'? Please also introduce the title song 'Nowadays'.

This album is composed of songs that are similar but have different feelings, just like the various meanings of the color 'blue'. Also, I tried to capture raw emotions in this MV, and I think you'll be able to feel the meaning and emotional line contained within it more deeply the more you watch it.

Q. Is there a part you focused on the most while preparing this album?

I tried to bring out the refreshing feeling in my voice. This time, I focused on bringing out the charm of my beautiful voice rather than the low and mid-range that I usually enjoy singing.

Q. Is there a message you would like to convey to the listeners through 'All About Blue'?

The 'Blue' of happiness and the 'Blue' of depression, all those emotions are contained in this album. I hope that through my songs, you can cherish these emotions and overcome them.

Q. You are active in many fields, from acting to entertainment. Did you feel any pressure while preparing the album?

Many people told me that they enjoyed the drama and variety show, so I prepared the album to share my joy. So I didn't feel burdened, but I was very excited. I want to meet my fans soon.

Q. If there are any memorable episodes or special experiences you had while preparing the album, please share them with us.

Most of the songs on the album are songs that go on and on in the high range without a break, so I almost rolled my eyes while recording. It wasn't easy physically, but I tried to put in as much energy as possible.

Q. Are there any points to watch for in the fan concert 'THE BLUE JOURNEY'?

I want to show you the various voices I have. I have prepared songs of various genres such as pop, rock, ballad, and dance. I have also prepared a cover stage with cute and sexy charms, so please look forward to it.
