On August 14, 2025, two simultaneous concerts will take place in Seoul on the eve of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation. "We Are the Light" will be held at Gyeongbokgung Palace, and "Daehan Is Alive" will be held at the National Assembly Building. Expectations are high for the star-studded lineup, which includes TXT, fromis_9, Psy, Lee Young-ji, and Gummy.

 

1. Where is the Liberation Day Eve celebration held?

 

The pre-event will be held at two iconic Seoul venues, each with a different concept. Both performances are free, but advance reservations are required, with no on-site ticketing available. To reserve tickets, pre-register in advance, and participants will be selected through a raffle for "We Are the Light," on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. What is the cast lineup?

TXT, fromis_9, and Lee Young Ji will grace the stage as representative performers. The performances range from traditional Korean music to musicals, and include participation from groups such as Hiki, Insooni, the National Dance Company of Korea, Seodo Band, and the Seoul Arts Troupe. Harmonize and the History Children's Choir will also join in, presenting a performance that all generations can relate to.

 

 

 

'Daehan Lives' (National Assembly Building)

Popular artists across all generations will appear, including Psy, Paul Kim, Spider, and Dynamic Duo. A lineup of talented artists from various genres, including Ali, 10CM, B.I.G, and Mad Clown, will also be joining us. Crying Nut, Maytree, and Kim Hyung-seok join in to complete the large-scale concert-style stage.

 

 

 

3. What is the reservation schedule and how do I apply?

The "We Are the Light" performance will be held by advance registration and a lottery selection process. Applications can be made on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism website. Each person may apply for up to two tickets. Please note that children under the age of 14 may only participate if accompanied by a guardian.

Tickets for the "Daehan-i-sa-eul" performance are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be reserved through Naver Reservations. Each person can reserve up to two tickets. Ticket holders must present their ID and pick up their wristband at the ticket booth in person.

4. What are the differences between the two performances and what are the points to watch?

 

As they take place in two representative venues of Seoul, 'We Are the Light' and 'Daehan Lived' offer completely different experiences, from the performance concepts, ticketing methods, seating arrangements, and target audiences.

 

"We Are the Light" is a moving performance-focused show that fuses tradition and modernity. Enjoy traditional Korean music, choir, K-pop, and musicals, and K-pop stars like TXT, fromis_9, and Lee Young-ji will perform alongside national arts organizations. Conversely, "Daehan Is Alive" is more of a large-scale K-pop concert, featuring performances by popular singers like Psy, Gummy, and Paul Kim, plus a drone show and media façade.

 

 

 

5. Things to know before viewing

 

Tickets cannot be purchased on-site for either performance. Admission is only possible after pre-booking online and verifying the ticket holder's identity. Each person may purchase up to two tickets, and any accompanying person must attend with the ticket holder.

Additionally, "We Are the Light" will feature free seating by zone (lottery system), while "Daehan Is Alive" will feature seating zones and picnic zones (first-come, first-served). As souvenirs, "Light Action Group" participants will receive merchandise, and "Daehan Is Alive" will provide cheering sticks to the first 5,000 participants. Parking is not available on-site, so please use public transportation.
