Moon Ga-young in Malaysia Actress Moon Ga-young is receiving a warm welcome from around the world. As the globally popular lead in the drama "Seocho-dong," she visited Malaysia and received a warm welcome.

tvN's weekend drama "Seocho-dong," which concluded on the 10th, recorded a nationwide average of 7.7% and a peak of 8.9%, achieving its highest viewership ratings (according to Nielsen Korea) and ending on a high note. The story of the lawyers portrayed over 12 episodes captivated and resonated with viewers until the very end.

Moon Ga-young took on the lead role of Kang Hee-ji in the drama, challenging her first role as a lawyer, and received favorable reviews from viewers for her stable acting and delicate expressiveness.

Thanks to Moon Ga-young's performance, the drama "Seocho-dong" achieved significant success beyond Korea, gaining immense popularity on global channels. On the global OTT platform Rakuten Viki, the drama ranked in the top five in terms of viewership in 150 countries and regions worldwide, including the United States, Brazil, France, the United Arab Emirates, and India. It also ranked high in each country and region on major platforms such as Disney+, Japan's largest platform Unext, and Taiwan's iQiyi and Friday. In Southeast Asia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines, it ranked first in its time slot, achieving the highest performance among CJ ENM dramas aired in 2025.

Buoyed by this enthusiastic response, "Seocho-dong" held a fan event and local press conference on the 10th and 11th in Malaysia, which has rapidly emerged as the largest market in Asia, to coincide with the end of its run. Upon arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Moon Ga-young expressed her gratitude to the numerous fans who greeted her warmly, waving and smiling despite the late hour.

On the first day of the event, the 10th, Moon Ga-young attended the screening event "Star Tour," where she met with fans in person. According to her agency Peak J Entertainment on the 12th, approximately 20,000 fans flocked to see Moon Ga-young at the red carpet event held at the main entrance of "Pavilion Kuala Lumpur" in Malaysia. The agency added, "It was the warmest welcome ever received by a K-drama hosted locally."

Moon Ga-young actively interacted with fans on site, signing "Seocho-dong" posters and taking photos with audience members' phones. Amidst the cheers and excitement that filled the red carpet, local media, as well as global media outlets like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Variety from the US, covered the event and relayed her story.

On the second day of the event, the 11th, a press conference was held for local media. Around 50 prominent local and global media outlets attended, adding to their enthusiasm for reporting and demonstrating their intense interest in Moon Ga-young and the drama.

At a local press conference, Moon Ga-young said, "It is a precious and special opportunity to be able to watch the final broadcast in another country, so I think it will remain as a good memory.
