[All] New Beat: "The 'New' in our name means we will continue to challenge ourselves with innovation." [Interview]
[TV Daily Reporter Kim Jin-seok] Group New Beat expressed confidence in their future.
New Beat won the 'K-World Dream New Vision Award' at the '2025 K-WORLD DREAM AWARDS' (hereafter '2025 KWDA') held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 21st.
On this day, New Beat conducted a waiting room interview before the awards ceremony. Park Min-seok of New Beat, who attended the awards ceremony for the first time, said, "First of all, I'm excited and grateful just to be able to stand on such a big stage. We recently released a digital single, and this is our first time performing on stage in Korea." He added, "We prepared the stage to match this special stage. We can't wait to show it to our fans."
New Beat has had a busy year since their debut. Looking back, Jeon Yeo-jeong recalled, "We went to LA for KCON. Back when we were trainees, we busked while touring the US. Back then, we did it in front of concert halls, but as time went by, standing on stage with the artist's name on it felt both strange and fulfilling."
In addition, Park Min-seok said, "Today, '2025 KWDA' and the fans who watch us, if the seven of us hadn't debuted, it wouldn't have been possible," and "We all have honed our skills and external aspects, but I think March 24th was the day I felt a sense of pride that I've never felt in my life," conveying his strong impression of the day of his debut.
Looking back on the year, Jo Yoon-hoo confessed, "As we've been on stage more, all the members have gained confidence and assurance. As we've become more relaxed, our perspective has broadened. Every time I see something I regret, I think to myself, 'We're doing well.'"
What will New Beat do for the rest of the year? They expressed their aspirations, saying, "We're likely to face many challenges in the future." They added, "Since our name includes the word 'New,' meaning new, we'll tackle new challenges. We'll continue to push forward, driven by extensive research and mutual commitment. We'll work toward a common goal, united in our hearts and minds."
Kim Ri-woo added, "I want to win first place on a music show and receive a rookie award. And I want to hold a concert filled with our fans."
New Beat, who debuted on March 24th with their first full-length album "RAW AND RAD," made a strong first impression on the public with special projects such as their Mnet debut show "Drop the New Beat" and the SBS fan showcase "Himsumjjin Dissection Room." Since then, they have been actively performing on stages both domestically and internationally.
