The Baeksang Arts Awards will take a leap forward by establishing a new musical category next year to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Korean musicals.
HLL JoongAng, the organizer and host of the Baeksang Arts Awards, announced on the 6th, "Starting with the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards, we will award a musical category. By adding a musical category to the existing three categories of broadcasting, film, and theater, we will seek to further expand our transformation as Korea's only comprehensive popular culture arts awards ceremony."
HLL JoongAng recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Musical Association to establish a musical category at the Baeksang Arts Awards. They plan to work closely together to further develop and expand the Korean musical industry.
