broadcaster Park Na-rae He was eventually accused.

It was confirmed on the 5th that a complaint requesting punishment of Park Na-rae on charges of assault, violation of the Medical Act, and violation of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act was submitted to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul.

The defendants include Park Na-rae, her agency, N Park Corporation, Park Na-rae's mother's aunt who is listed as the agency's representative, an unidentified medical professional, and former managers.

Park Na-rae is embroiled in various allegations stemming from revelations by her former managers. They allege that Park Na-rae has caused numerous problems, including workplace bullying, verbal abuse, assault, proxy prescriptions, and unpaid expenses.

One manager said he endured verbal abuse and was injured by flying glasses because he refused to drink. He also revealed that some expenses incurred during work were not paid on time, leaving unpaid bills for groceries and alcohol.

The industry's reaction is, "What was meant to happen has happened." Park Na-rae's drinking problems have been consistently raised, but there has been no improvement.

According to the indictment, Park Na-rae violated the relevant laws by operating a one-person entertainment agency (agency) and failing to carry out popular culture and arts planning business, and the prosecution has designated those who may be considered proxy recipients who visited medical institutions to receive prescriptions, such as making hospital reservations and running errands for proxy prescriptions, at Park Na-rae's direction, and requested an investigation.

The accuser said, “The former managers appear to be victims of various forms of bullying and unfair treatment while working under the direction and supervision of Park Na-rae,” but added, “If the investigation confirms that they were directly involved in the proxy prescription structure that violates the proxy prescription system under the Medical Act, they cannot be exempted from responsibility for violating the public medical order simply because they are victims.”

Attorney Jeong Tae-won of LKB Pyeongsan Law Firm pointed out that “the Park Na-rae case is not simply a ‘controversy in the entertainment industry,’ but a complex case that requires a look at criminal, labor, and administrative issues all at once.”

Attorney Jeong stated, “If the allegations made by the former managers, such as forcing them to drink, verbally abusing them, and ordering them to be on standby 24 hours a day, are true, it could constitute workplace bullying and a violation of labor laws. Furthermore, the fact that the injured person was injured by a thrown glass could be considered special bodily harm or assault. If the hospital appointments or errands for proxy prescriptions actually occurred, it would be difficult to avoid the issue of violations of the Medical Act.” He added, “However, since only one-sided claims have been made public at this time, the investigative authorities will meticulously verify the facts, focusing on the credibility of the statements and the physical evidence.”

Also, regarding the unregistered popular culture and arts planning business of the one-person agency N Park, Article 26 of the relevant law clearly stipulates that ‘business must not be conducted without registration,’ and violation of this is punishable by imprisonment for up to two years or a fine of up to 20 million won.” “The important point is that even if Park Na-rae is belatedly going through the registration process, if business such as management, contracts, and casting were carried out in the past while unregistered, the violation of the law itself has already been established. It is the same structure as driving without a license and then later getting a license does not eliminate the act of driving without a license.”

He said, “However, in practice, there are many cases where administrative procedures are omitted in the early stages of a planning company, so the actual punishment is often settled as administrative measures such as corrective orders, fines, and suspension of business rather than criminal punishment.” He added, “Ultimately, the level of punishment in this case is likely to vary depending on how specifically the intent, unregistered period, and actual scope of business are revealed.”
