Producer Teddy received the Prime Minister's Award for Contribution to Overseas Expansion at the '2025 Korea Content Awards' held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 10th.
The 'Content Award' is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency. It is awarded to those who have produced excellent content and contributed to the development of the domestic content industry, such as promoting content exports, throughout the year.
Producer Teddy received the award for his contribution to global expansion, including content exports, the spread of the Korean Wave, and international cultural exchange.
Big Bang class 2NE1 Producer Teddy, who composed a lot of Blackpink's music and established himself as a representative producer of K-pop, has since established The Black Label and recruited and discovered many unique artists.
Especially the first girl group of The Black Label Meow (MEOVV)' and the rookie mixed group that took this year by storm ' All Day Project (ALLDAY PROJECT·Oldef) further solidified their musical color with their debut. In particular, ' Golden Netflix K-pop animation film that created a global syndrome, including K-Pop Demon Hunters '(Kedeheon) composed many of the main OSTs.
Teddy debuted as a member of the hip-hop group 1TYM in 1998. He later rose to prominence as a top producer, producing hit songs for YG Entertainment artists such as Big Bang, 2NE1, and Blackpink.
The group has contributed significantly to BLACKPINK's global status, to the point where they are often referred to as the fifth member. While they rarely engage in public activities outside of music, their appearance in the Netflix music documentary "BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky" (2020) bolstered BLACKPINK's reputation.
