At around 4:00 PM on the 22nd, Ms. Lee (22, female), a student at Kyunghee University in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, was sitting on a mat spread out on the street on campus, waiting for the performance to begin. On the first day of the festival, there were thousands of people waiting for the performance, lined up for about 500 meters on campus. They spent time eating snacks or sleeping while spreading out mats and umbrellas.

As the performance began, more and more people gathered, creating dangerous situations. Safety personnel were maintaining order by saying, “Don’t stop,” and “Go forward.” Many people entered the audience while drunk or stood on the stair railings and dirt slopes to watch the performance in a dangerous manner.
