Domestic dessert importer signs exclusive contract with local company
Chocolate from Dubai's Fix Dessert Chocolatier (hereinafter Fix), known as 'Dubai Chocolate' on social media, is expected to land in Korea this fall.
According to an investigation by Hankyung.com, domestic dessert importer 'Goi International' concluded an exclusive domestic import contract with the local headquarters in Dubai in May and is currently coordinating the import schedule and method.
Han Jun-hee, CEO of Goi International, told Hankyung.com, "We finalized the import contract through a local meeting. We are currently discussing the import schedule," but he was cautious about specifics, saying, "It has not been decided whether we will import finished products or use consignment production. We are in the process of discussing the quantity, import method, and schedule."

Dubai Chocolate is a chocolate dessert from Fix's filled with donuts, brownies, and nuts in a colorful coating that looks like it was sprayed with paint. The most popular chocolate is the 'Kanafeh', a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, and the 'Kanafe Pistachio' flavor, which uses pistachio cream as a filling. It is sold for about 24,000 won (65 dirhams) in Korean currency.
According to Koreans living in Dubai, this chocolate is popular not only in Korea but also locally. Ms. Yu, a 20-year-old working in Dubai, said, "There is no separate store locally, but you can buy it through the website every day at 5 p.m. It is so popular locally that it usually sells out in 1-2 minutes."
He said, "I was lucky enough to try it once," and conveyed the local atmosphere by saying, "It's hard to find even in Dubai, so my friends are going crazy trying to try this chocolate."
However, this chocolate is currently difficult to purchase in Korea. This is because the shelf life is rather short, about 3-4 days. Goi International Co., Ltd. is a company that specializes in importing overseas desserts, such as Dubai Fix chocolate and Spanish Pancracio chocolate. When asked about the specific sales schedule, CEO Han explained, "We are trying to bring it into the country as soon as possible, with the goal of distribution in October."
