[All] Lim Chang-jung, “Not guilty of stock manipulation”: “My name will be tarnished… I will reflect on it for the rest of my life”

Actor and producer Im Chang-jung has shared his thoughts for the first time regarding the prosecution's decision not to indict him for his alleged involvement in the stock price crash caused by the issuance of Societe Generale (SG).

On the 10th, Im Chang-jung publicly apologized on his social media, saying, "First of all, I bow my head and deeply apologize to all those who were hurt by my careless decisions over the past year and to my fans." He said, "I feel so devastated that I hurt so many people by tarnishing their precious name due to my foolishness and immaturity."

Lim Chang-jung, who thought that if he worked hard and challenged himself in any field that he could, he could share the fruits of his labor with everyone, revealed, "However, as time passed and I went through a series of processes of nurturing juniors and becoming a producer, which were my long-held dreams, the artist Lim Chang-jung and the businessman Lim Chang-jung got mixed up."

It is a confession that in that confusing position, he did not realize how different and dangerous his choices and decisions were from before.

Lim Chang-jung said, "I feel very sorry and regretful for letting the precious name and face you gave me be used so easily, for not being able to focus on my job as an artist, and for causing disappointment to many people," and he berated himself, saying, "Even if I am not legally punished for my ignorant actions and thoughtless choices that require no excuses, how can that cover up my shameful actions?" He added, "I will never forget all of this and will live my life reflecting on it over and over again. Please watch over me once again. I sincerely apologize."
