'Night Fishing' has been officially invited to the International Short Film Competition section of the 28th Fantasia International Film Festival, which will be held in Montreal, Canada from July 18 to August 4 (local time).

The Fantasia International Film Festival is the largest genre film festival in North America, and is visited by many North American distributors and buyers to find new genre films, and runs for a longer period than the usual three-week film festival. It is one of the international film festivals that introduces and promotes Asian genre films, thereby increasing the preference for Asian films.

In particular, many Korean films were invited to the Fantasia International Film Festival, and the "Criminal City" series won the Asian Feature Film Gold Award for two consecutive years, drawing attention. In addition, in 2023, the short film "Shoulders" won the Silver Award for Best Asian Short Film, and "Architect A" won the Silver Award for Best Short Film at the Kon Satoshi Award, drawing attention.

Programmer Nicholas Archemboldt explained the reason for the invitation, saying, "It is a work that combines actor Son Seok-gu's overwhelming action performance, Cannes Film Festival award-winning director Moon Byung-gon's creative direction, and impressive production values." He added, "We wanted to introduce a fascinating worldview that is expected to develop and expand into a feature film to movie fans around the world."

'Night Fishing' is a film that depicts a mysterious incident that a man experiences at an electric vehicle charging station, and it has unique cinematic perspectives by 'capturing the perspectives of seven car cameras.'

You can also see the one-man action of actor Son Seok-gu struggling to catch something, and director Moon Byung-gon, who was the first Korean to win the Palme d'Or in the short film competition at the Cannes Film Festival for 'Safe' (2013), participated in the directing. The film was shot by cinematographer Jo Hyung-rae, who also directed 'The Outlaws' (2017) and 'Concrete Utopia' (2023).

'Night Fishing' will be shown at CGV for two weeks from the 14th to the 16th and from the 21st to the 23rd.
