The 112 Report Processing Act, which allows for fines for false 112 reports, will be implemented starting next month on the 3rd.

According to the 112 Reporting Act, if a report is made falsely or in a situation that is not an emergency, such as a crime or other accident, a fine of up to 5 million won may be imposed.

Currently, if you make a false report to 112, you are subject to criminal punishment for obstruction of official duties under the Criminal Act or fines and other penalties for making a false report under the Minor Offenses Punishment Act.

If you obstruct emergency measures taken by police officers or violate an evacuation order, you may be subject to a fine of up to 3 million won.
