A fire broke out at the Aricel factory, a primary battery manufacturer located in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 24th, raising concerns of multiple casualties, and more than 20 employees are still out of contact.

According to fire authorities and others, as of 2:30 p.m., four hours after the fire broke out, a total of 21 Aricel factory workers are unreachable.

The fire broke out on the second floor of Building 3 of the 11 Aricel factory buildings. It was determined that 67 workers were working in Building 3, with 15 on the first floor and 52 on the second floor at the time of the fire.

Fire officials estimate that 21 of them were trapped inside the building, unable to escape the flames.
