[All] 'Busan Roundhouse Kick Incident' to be made into a movie.. Jeon Hyo-seong is the main character

The movie 'I Can't Be the Devil' (tentative title) based on the so-called 'Busan Roundhouse Kick Incident' that caused public outrage is coming out. Singer and actress Jeon Hyo-seong is cast as the main character, taking on the lead role on screen for the first time in 15 years since her debut.

The Busan roundhouse kick incident occurred in May 2022, when a man in his 30s, Mr. A, knocked down Ms. B, a woman in her 20s, with a roundhouse kick in the first floor entrance of an officetel in Seomyeon, a bustling area in Busan, and then indiscriminately assaulted her. At the time, Mr. A chased Ms. B, whom he had seen for the first time that day, down the street, and the scene of him assaulting her with a roundhouse kick in the common entrance was captured on CCTV, sparking public outrage across the nation.

Person A was indicted on attempted murder charges and sentenced to 12 years in prison in the first trial, but the attempted rape and murder charge was applied in the appeal trial, and the Supreme Court confirmed the sentence of 20 years in prison. Person A, who had been denying the crime, not only showed no remorse, but also warned of retaliation against Person B, and was subsequently locked up in solitary confinement in a detention center.
