According to the statistics on foreign visitors to Japan for July released by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) on the 21st, the number of foreign visitors to Japan last month was 3.29 million, a 41.9% increase from the same period last year, recording the highest number ever.

On a monthly basis, it broke the record for the second consecutive month following June (3.13 million).

Looking at the total number of foreigners who visited Japan last month by country and region, Korea ranked second with 758,000 people. China ranked first with 777,000 people.

However, in terms of the cumulative total from January to July this year, Korea still had the largest number at 5.2 million, followed by China (3.845 million).

If this trend continues, the number of foreign visitors to Japan this year is expected to hit a record high.
