[All] Go Young-wook's YouTube channel was opened and then closed

On the morning of the 23rd, Go Young-wook posted a message on his personal SNS expressing his feelings about deleting his personal YouTube channel.

He complained, "It seems like my YouTube channel was shut down overnight." He added, "I did not upload any harmful content just because I have a criminal record, so how can YouTube apply non-existent regulations to just one person? I have already paid all the punishment under the law, so how is it fair that some people can and others cannot?"

He then revealed some of the encouraging responses from those who supported him during the time he opened his YouTube channel, adding, "I would like to thank those who subscribed to my inadequate channel, and those who visited and showed interest in it. I would also like to express my apologies and regrets to those who sent me emails to support me. Although it was a short time, I am grateful to all of you who sent me so much love, and I will not forget that feeling."

In 2013, Go Young-wook was arrested and indicted on charges of sexually assaulting and forcibly molesting three minors on four occasions from July 2010 to December 2012 in his officetel and car. He was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, five years of mandatory disclosure and notification of personal information, and three years of attachment to an electronic location tracking device.

After completing his sentence in 2015, he opened an Instagram account in November 2020, after his electronic ankle bracelet was lifted and the sex offender information reporting period ended, and revealed his current status. However, the account was closed two days after opening due to restrictions that sex offenders cannot use it. After four years, on the 5th, he opened a personal YouTube channel and was criticized by public opinion, but the channel was deleted.

Separately from Go Young-wook's lament, many netizens and the public seem to welcome the deletion of the channel. Go Young-wook denied it, but there are countless YouTubers with criminal records, big and small, among the countless YouTube channels. In fact, Go Young-wook was allowed to open a YouTube channel for this very reason. Nevertheless, the public's criticism was so strong that the channel was deleted.
