[talk] "Pink Guard pride has grown" Park Gyu-young shows off her unique presence with 'Squid Game 2'
It was really exciting to see the story of soldiers being covered for the first time in Ogame 2.
I was curious about how the soldiers became soldiers like that.
Park Gyu-young is a sniper soldier, but he has a sad story.
A soldier who shoots at vital points to prevent the removal of organs from a living person by any means necessary...
Meanwhile, I usually work as a puppeteer at an amusement park.
He is a person who protects the child's innocence with a mother's heart, but he is also a person who ruthlessly snipes people.
How will the conversation continue with Lee Jin-wook~~

Park Gyu-young is having a photo time at the production conference for Season 2 of the Netflix series 'Squid Game' held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul on the 9th. Reporter Heo Sang-wook wook@sportschosun.com/2024.12.09/ [Sports Chosun Reporter Jo Min-jung] Actress Park Gyu-young, who has newly joined Season 2 of Netflix's 'Squid Game', left a strong impression by expanding the world of the series as the Pink Guard 'No-eul'. If Season 1 unfolded the story from the perspective of the participants, Season 2 expanded the story from the new perspective of the Pink Guard, adding to the tension of the play.
Park Gyu-young met with Sports Chosun at a location in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 3rd and responded to an interview to commemorate her appearance in season 2 of Netflix's 'Squid Game.'
Park Gyu-young revealed the process of joining the show during an interview, saying, "I was cast after two auditions." She said, "I was even more excited and grateful because I was able to explain a new world through the role of Pink Guard, an agent."
The character she plays, No-eul, is a defector from the military who joins the game to find her daughter left behind in the North. However, she is not a regular participant, but a character who appears wearing a suit of a pink guard, an agent of the game, and aims a gun at the participants. Regarding this, Park Gyu-young said, "No-eul is a character who is conflicted between guilt and hope," and "I wanted to express the inner side of the character who cannot choose death herself but continues to live with the one hope of finding her daughter."
In particular, Noeul's actions contained an ethical dilemma of trying to send the participants away without pain. "Noeul tried to maintain her own ethics in a way that caused the least pain to others," he explained, "and meeting Na-yeon, the daughter of Kyung-seok played by Lee Jin-wook, reminded Noeul of her own daughter and aroused human compassion."

She added, "Since the Pink Guard's true identity was not properly revealed in Season 1, it was an honor to be given the role of unraveling their story."
Park Gyu-young's passion also stood out in the action scenes. "I prepared by practicing gun use and stances at the action school," she said, adding, "I worked together with the instructors on set." Regarding the difficulty of having to act while wearing a mask, she shared a behind-the-scenes story, saying, "I couldn't see or hear it, so I recorded it in the background."
'Squid Game' Season 2 received an explosive response worldwide immediately after its release. According to Netflix's global ranking site, 'Flix Patrol', it ranked first in the series category in 93 countries and recorded 68 million views in the non-English series category in just 4 days.
Park Gyu-young said, "I've appeared in several Netflix series, but the response to this one was particularly surprising," and "I could really feel the interest of global fans when I saw comments left in various languages from each country."
In particular, he received favorable reviews saying, "Park Gyu-young's performance without the mask was refreshing," for his role as a Pink Guard, a character full of twists and turns. He said, "It was a new challenge because I had to convey the character's emotions even while wearing a mask," and added, "I'm grateful that the viewers noticed that."
The talk about season 3 continued. Park Gyu-young raised viewers’ expectations by saying, “The Pink Guards’ narratives will become even deeper in season 3.” She said, “Not only No-eul, but the stories and worldviews of other Pink Guards will be richer,” and expressed confidence that “the questions viewers have will be resolved.”
