The second round of mediation regarding the exclusive contract dispute between the group New Jeans and its agency Adore has broken down.
At 1:30 PM on the 11th, the 41st Civil Agreement Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Jeong Hoe-il) held the second mediation session for the lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract filed by Adore against the five members of New Jeans.
The two sides, who failed to reach an agreement in the first mediation on the 14th of last month, failed to reach an agreement in this 20-minute mediation. New Jeans members Minzy and Daniel appeared in court in person at the first mediation, but they did not show up on this day.

Last November, the members of New Jeans held an emergency press conference, announcing that their contract had been terminated due to Adore's breach of contract and that they would pursue independent activities. New Jeans explained the termination as a "broken trust relationship due to the ouster of former CEO Min Hee-jin."
However, Adore filed an injunction against the members, claiming that the contract with New Jeans was valid, to preserve the agency's status and prohibit the members from entering into advertising contracts, and the court accepted this, prohibiting the members from engaging in independent activities.
The New Jeans members filed objections to the decision, but the court dismissed them twice. With the two sides unable to reach an agreement this time, the court plans to deliver its ruling on October 30th.
