The group New Jeans wore black ribbons to commemorate the victims of the Jeju Air disaster on stage at the Japan Record Awards.
On December 30th, New Jeans attended the '66th Japan Record Awards' broadcast live and won the Excellence Award for 'Supernatural'. On this day, the members went up on stage wearing black ribbons on their costumes and expressed their condolences to the victims of the Jeju Air disaster.
Previously, New Jeans posted a photo of herself wearing a black flower-shaped ribbon with the caption, "With deep condolences" through the 'jeanzforfree' account.
Following the 'Record Awards', New Jeans will also perform at the 'Countdown Japan 24/25', a Japanese year-end festival held on the 31st.
Meanwhile, on the morning of the 29th, Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 departing from Bangkok, Thailand, had an accident while attempting to land on the runway of Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do. 179 of the 181 people on board died in the accident. The government designated a period of national mourning until January 4th.
