(Xports News Reporter Lee Ye-jin) The drama 'Unknown Seoul' has received a hot response overseas and has settled in the top 3 of Netflix's global series (non-English).
tvN's 'Unknown Seoul' is a romantic growth drama about twin sisters who are different in every way except their faces, and they find true love and life through a lie that swaps their lives. It is currently being broadcast domestically and internationally through tvN, Tving, and Netflix.
According to the global TOP10 series (non-English) rankings (based on May 26 to June 1) released by Netflix on Wednesday the 4th, 'Unknown Seoul' ranked 3rd globally. The number of views recorded during the same period was 2.8 million, and the cumulative viewing time was 14.7 million hours.
Overseas media is also paying attention to 'Unknown Seoul'. The American entertainment magazine Variety praised 'Unknown Seoul', saying, "Park Bo-young took on the complex task of playing twin sisters who switch roles, and effectively embodied four different personas."
Forbes, a prominent American media outlet, also reviewed the drama, saying, "In this new K-drama, Park Bo-young plays twins Mirae and Mi-ji, and she realistically portrays two characters with very different personalities, and she also convincingly acts out the scenes where they switch roles and pretend to be each other."
Hong Kong's South China Morning Post also praised her, saying, "Park Bo-young not only clearly distinguishes between the unknown and the future, but also skillfully digests the complex situations in which they play each other, and delicately captures the wounds and strength of the two characters."
The global audience response is also hot. On IMDb, the world's largest content review site, 'Unknown Seoul' is recording a rating of 8.5 points. In particular, the rating of Episode 3 was the highest at 9.7 points, and all four episodes released so far received a rating of 9.0 points or higher. On Japan's largest content review site, Filmarks, it is also recording a high rating of 4.4 points (out of 5 points).
