Hoshi / Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea Northern Business Headquarters

[My Daily = Reporter Seunggil Lee] Seventeen member Hoshi has once again contributed to building educational infrastructure for children and teenagers.

The Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea's Northern Branch (hereafter, Gyeonggi Northern Fruit of Love) announced on the 16th that Hoshi recently donated 100 million won. The donation will be used to build and remodel classrooms at Mansansa Public School in Ndola, Zambia.

Mansansa Public School, with approximately 350 students from kindergarten through seventh grade, previously operated with only two classrooms. Hoshi and his parents decided to donate two new buildings, each with five classrooms, to ensure students can pursue their dreams in a more stable educational environment. Last year, he also donated 100 million won to the Gyeonggi Northern Love Fruit Foundation to support facility improvements at the Luap Prabang Orphanage School in Laos.

Hoshi said, “I want to give some strength and encouragement to the growing children,” and “I hope that the children will be able to grow their dreams in a healthier way in the newly built classroom.”

Since his debut, Hoshi has consistently practiced sharing and spread positive influence. In 2021, he donated 100 million won and became a member of the Love Fruit Honor Society (a group of high-value individual donors who have donated over 100 million won). He has also actively participated in disaster recovery efforts and support for underprivileged children and youth in local communities. SEVENTEEN, which he is a part of, was also the first K-pop artist to be appointed UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador, and has been leading the way in social contribution activities, such as raising a $1 million fund for young people around the world.
