December 13, 2024 - World Share, an international relief and development NGO, announced that Japanese fans of SHINee's Onew donated a well again this year to celebrate his birthday.
Onew's Japanese fan group 'So Amazing ONEW's BD Project JP' has sponsored a well through World Share every year for the past eight years on December 14th, Onew's birthday. During that time, fans have contributed to providing safe drinking water to local residents by installing wells in places such as Cambodia and Tanzania.
This year, over 130 fans participated in the fundraising, and this project was carried out to show their continued support even after Onew recently changed agencies. The well donated this year is currently under construction in Cambodia, and will be used by nearby residents once completed.
