Actor Song Joong-ki of the film 'The Emperor: Owner of the Mask' won the Best Supporting Actor trophy at the 2024 Buil Film Awards.

At the 2024 Buil Film Awards held at the Signiel Busan Grand Ballroom in Haeundae-gu, Busan on the afternoon of that day, actor Song Joong-ki was named as the winner of the Best Supporting Actor Award.

Song Joong-ki said, “I am so sincerely grateful. I am deeply grateful to the audience who loved ‘Hwaran.’ I am personally even happier to receive the award from senior Kim Jong-soo. He appears as my father in the movie ‘Bogota.’ He told me that there is a good movie called ‘Hwaran,’ and asked me to do it well at a low price.”

Song Joong-ki continued, “The movie ‘Hwaran’ is not just a story about gangsters. It’s a story about the wounds of two boys. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the director who directed it so well. I would also like to thank the CEO who invested in it with such a big heart, even though it is a difficult piece to invest in. I was tired of my life going around in circles when I happened to have a conversation with CEO Lee Jung-se, who told me that there was a heavy script and recommended that I read it. I would also like to thank CEO Han Jae-deok of Sanai Pictures, who faithfully guarded the set. I learned a lot on set. I am also very grateful to the actors who worked hard with me. Lastly, I would like to thank my loving family and the Buil Film Awards judges who chose me, who is lacking in many ways.”
